Augury has released a new feature that will enable technicians to quickly add Carrier Chillers while allowing for more precise diagnostic insights and greater confidence in where to place the sensor during recording. Thanks to Carrier's Service Engineering team, we are able to identify the majority of the required machine setup information.
Machine templates are useful for all new equipment that you're recording on. If you have already created a machine and recorded vibration readings, it would be best to keep the existing machine.
Quickly Create a New Carrier Chiller
First, identify the building where you would like to create or create the new building. From the building page, select "we are recording in, locate the machines in the building, and walk through the hierarchy of where the machines are.
In the event you haven’t recorded in this building, you would need to add the building. As this is a new machine (one that you have not recorded on before) you will click Add in the upper right hand corner and then Chiller.
This will initiate the process for collecting machine data. Identify the chiller name and if it's critical or not. Identify the Machine Make as "Carrier" and then input the Machine Model in order to trigger the template. Augury will search for these model numbers against the database that has been provided by Carrier Service Engineering. If there's a match, you'll see that the VFD and Foundation Type fields will be populated.
Note that the mapping of the model number is based on only the first few digits. So you can input the full model number for tracking purposes, and we will map based on the model family. The only cases where you would not want to input the full model number is on a 19XR for example. We have mapped the different frame sizes as 19XR2 (for a frame 2, single stage compressor) or 19XRC (for a two-stage compressor).
See the list of current model number families:
17DA - Motor Driven | 17EX-FA Internal Gear | 19D | 19XR-XL Single Stage | 30GX-HX (06N Compressor) |
17DA - Turbine Driven | 17M - Motor Driven | 19DV | 19XRC-E-6-7 Two Stage | 30KAV-XV (06Z Compressor) |
17DK | 17M - Turbine Driven | 19EA-EB | 23XL | 30XA-XB-XW (06T Compressor) |
17EX-FA External Gearbox | 19C | 19EF-EX-FA | 23XRV |
On the subsequent pages, you'll find that the questions have already been answered for you. So aside from taking a picture, you can navigate through the remaining screens, confident that the machine was set up properly.
You have successfully created a new chiller. Select Go to Machine List to return to the building where you can identify the newly-added chiller and begin recording.
Record with Customized Recording Point Images
When you created the chiller not only did you use Carrier Service Engineering's data on things like motor RPM or compressor make, but you also get customized images of that particular chiller. This will show you exactly where to place the sensor as you record. Some models are illustrated with line drawings while others have images of the chiller with with the sensor in its proper location.
When start recording on your newly-copied template, you will notice that the recording point images are now customized for that machine. They will include machine images with the sensors, machine diagrams, or a combination of both. Note the blue dot on each image that will indicate the precise measuring point.
