Before you take an Auguscope recording, you must identify the machine that you are recording on and the building that it is in. This may be done in advance of or at the time of recording and may be done on the Auguscope App using a mobile device or on the web at Augury.com.
From the Auguscope App
Add a building
Every machine that is recorded with the Auguscope must be associated with a building. From the home screen, select the large Buildings button at the top of the page or Buildings from the menu at the bottom of the page.
From the next screen, select Add in the top right corner then begin to complete the form. General building information is required but you may also add customer information or building site contact information for reference as well. You may also identify up to three levels of hierarchy within the building so you can more easily locate machines as you record. Select wing, floor, room or any combination of the three. Only one level of hierarchy is required. Complete the form and select Done to create your building.
Note that the app allows you to select which hierarchies to use, but if you'd like more flexibility in naming the levels to something other than wing, floor, or room, you may create the building from the platform at Augury.com.
Add a machine
Creating a machine is a prerequisite to recording and successful vibration diagnosis. In order to add a machine, navigate to a building then select Machines in the building then Add in the top right corner. Select the type of machine you would like to add. Note that if you're adding a Carrier chiller, it may be easier to use a machine template instead of creating a new machine.
Identify information about the machine. As you make selections, additional questions may appear. Augury's Vibration Analysts use this information to review the machine and the recording data you capture in order to provide an appropriate diagnosis. Most information asked for may be found on the machine's nameplate. Note that fields in red are required and must be submitted in order to create the machines. Fields in orange are recommended though may be left blank if the information is not available. Fields in black are nice to have if the information is readily available or easily known. Select Next where you will be prompted with some additional machine questions.
After making these selections, we recommend uploading an image to the machine so that anyone can plainly see the machine being recorded. The image is also visible to Augury Vibration Analysts and appears on the visit report provided to the customer. Select the image icon to take a picture or select one already on your mobile device, then select Next.
Lastly, we need a few additional data points about the machine's components. Once completed, you have successfully created your machine and may begin recording, add a repair, or add an observation.

Add a facility (optional)
Facilities are not required like buildings but may be useful for larger customer sites where there are multiple buildings. This can often be the case at university campuses or corporate parks. In order to set up a facility, it’s important to create the facility entity first then begin creating buildings within it. In order to add a facility, navigate to your market then select Facility then Add Facility.
Note: Machines and buildings may be added from the Auguscope app, but facilities can not.
Complete the form and select Save to create your facility.

You may also upload images of the machine for reference. We recommend uploading an image of the machine in addition to the nameplate both for Augury's Vibration Analysts and for the local market. Adding a nameplate image can drastically reduce the time it takes to identify parts necessary for repair if a repair is required.
Lastly, you may provide additional information about the machine. The Vibration Analyst reviewing the data will see this as the asses the machine's health, so any additional insight that may be helpful during diagnosis may be listed here.
If you need more time creating the machine, you may select Save As Draft in order to save your progress and return later. Once all the information has been entered, select Save.
You may view this machine information later by navigating to the machine and selecting Show Machine Information (labeled as item A) or edit the machine information by selecting the ellipse (labeled as item B).
